Experience the magic of design­ing with authen­tic wood type and vin­tage let­ter­presses.  Letterpress Live! is the Book Arts League’s three month kick-off event to pro­mote com­mu­nity access to our amaz­ing let­ter­press stu­dio, soon to be avail­able to local artists and crafters on an hourly fee basis!

If you dig vin­tage print as an art medium, these work­shops are for you. All of our instruc­tors are highly accom­plished in the field of let­ter­press design. Participants in each class will have the totally cool expe­ri­ence of work­ing with our fully-functional vin­tage let­ter­presses. No expe­ri­ence nec­es­sary! The first class is October 6th, so sign up today.

Sunday, Oct. 6th: Exploring Wood Type Learn how to use wood type to cre­ate mul­ti­ple lay­ers of text and pattern

Sunday, Nov. 3rd: Text, Texture & Color – Add rich tex­ture to your design on paper, fab­ric, wall­pa­per, stick­ers – any­thing thin and pli­able will work!

Sunday, Dec. 1st: Printers Ornaments Create move­able type pictures
