Hosted by Foundry 301, the AIGA student chapter at the Art Institute of Colorado, this contest invites Denver-area college students to create original snowboard designs that are graphic, illustrative, photographic, typographic or some combination of these.

Each individual participant may submit up to three designs, so long as they are distinct from each other rather than variations on a theme. Entries will be judged by industry professionals and the top 10 will be selected and printed onto snowboards, with the top four winners receiving the grand prize of a snowboard printed with their design.

Submissions are accepted any time from now through midnight MST on Friday, December 5, 2014. Get your creative juices flowing and get ready to hit the slopes!

Contest guidelines and entry forms are available here.

  • Wait, so the top 10 will be printed by the company to sell… but if you’re not in the top 4, you still have to pay for a snowboard with your design on it?

Somebody should guide the student group to let them know that this type of thing contradicts AIGA’s position on spec work…
