The Power of the Poster

A Show

Friday, July 19th

7p-9p

In 2006 AIGA Colorado approached Access Gallery about hosting a “poster show” at the VSA Colorado/Access Gallery to raise funds for their mentorship program and our teen programs. The event was a huge success selling nearly 70% of the posters in one night. VSA was thrilled to host the exhibit/sale and began a long and interesting partnership.

In 2007 Matt Bargell the AIGA Colorado asked if we could shift the focus from posters to Skateboards. VSA Colorado/Access Gallery hosted the first Bordo Bello here at our gallery – another huge success 75 skate decks again VSA received half of the funds. As you know Bordo Bello went on to be a huge fundraiser for AIGA and VSA. VSA Colorado worked on every Bordo Bello as it grew and now the exhibition is at the AIGA National office and might not return home to Colorado.

To date the Giving Voice program has had some amazing results:

On Friday, July 19th the Colorado Access Gallery will host an exhibition of posters designed by the Giving Voice Students along with Milton Glaser, Ralph Steadman and other national and Denver Designers who want to support social change.

Their work will hang next to the students of the Giving Voice program which AIGA has supported through Bordo Bello’s proceeds for the last 5 years.  AIGA Colorado and The Access Gallery is bringing back the poster show and want you to come support the work of our students and designers. The poster show include a Silent Auction of the work donated by our esteemed designers here in Denver and nationally with all proceeds going right back into the Giving Voice program so please come ready to be the change you want to see in the world and give back to our creative youth that will inspire and enact change.

If you are a Designer who wants to donate work then follow these easy steps:

From AIGA Colorado’s Giving Voice program and the Access Gallery staff that makes it all possible we thank you in advance for being a part of this amazing evening for the Cause Related poster show on Friday, July 19th from 7pm-9pm.
