Celebrate the 100th Year Anniversary of AIGA with special guests Kit Hinrichs and Katherine McCoy as they speak about this latest poster design project with Milton Glaser and start off the evening with a personal prerecording introduction.

This event is free and special limited numbered and signed posters from the three designers will be for sale with the proceeds benefiting the AIGA Design Archives located at the Denver Art Museum’s Department of Architecture, Design and Graphics.

Kit Hinrichs served as principal in several design offices in New York and San Francisco and spent 23 years as a partner of Pentagram before opening Studio Hinrichs in 2009. His design experience incorporates a wide range of projects, including corporate communications, brand development, promotion, packaging, catalogs, environmental graphics, editorial and exhibition design. Kit’s work is included in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the Library of Congress. He has co-chaired the Alliance Graphique Internationale San Francisco Congress, and is an AIGA medalist.

Katherine McCoy co-chaired Cranbrook Academy of Art’s Design Department for 24 years, and was a Senior Lecturer at Illinois Institute of Technology’s Institute of Design in Chicago and a Distinguished Visiting Professor at the Royal College of Art. She is a AIGA Medallist and an elected member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale, and holds an Honorary Doctorate from Kansas City Art Institute. With her husband Michael, she received the Smithsonian Design Museum’s first Design Mind Award. Katherine consults in communications design for cultural and environmental clients, and writes on design criticism and history.

Milton Glaser is among the most celebrated graphic designers in the United States. He has had the distinction of one-man-shows at the Museum of Modern Art and the Georges Pompidou Center. He was selected for the lifetime achievement award of the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum (2004) and the Fulbright Association (2011), and in 2009 he was the first graphic designer to receive the National Medal of the Arts award. As a Fulbright scholar, Glaser studied with the painter, Giorgio Morandi in Bologna, and is an articulate spokesman for the ethical practice of design. He opened Milton Glaser, Inc. in 1974, and continues to produce a prolific amount of work in many fields of design to this day.
