AIGA100 Birthday Bash

This past Tuesday we celebrated AIGA’s 100th birthday in style with a birthday bash at Shift Workspaces. The evening was a celebration of AIGA’s glorious past, present and future. Members from all over the community gathered to share their memories and stories of inspiration and passion for our beloved field. We heard from former AIGA Colorado president and last year’s recipient of the AIGA Colorado Fellow award Deborah Williams as well as Marian Halladay, recipient of the Fellow award in 2011.

We previewed some of the exciting things  that will be happening this year to celebrate AIGA100 including the viral Instagram campaign in which designers post pictures of their favorite chair and caption it with “this is my chair and I ___ here.” A one year subscription of Adobe Creative Cloud was auctioned off as well as an autographed copy of Shel Perkin’s book Talent Is Not Enough: Business Secrets For Designers. We also revealed the winners of our inaugural Robert Taylor Professional Grant award. Congratulations to Katherine McCoy and Marni Myers who each won the $1,000 grant! The evening was capped off with cake and a Kool-aid toast.

Thanks to everyone who came out and celebrated with us, it certainly was a memorable evening. And we can’t thank our generous sponsors enough for their support:

Here’s to another successful 100 years!
