AIGA Colorado’s partnership with ArtStir

ArtStir is a local artists’ showcase for a variety of works in painting, photography, illustration, textiles, furnishings, mixed media, and locally designed and handcrafted goods that is held over Memorial Day Weekend downtown at the Denver Pavilions. AirStir has announced a new partnership with VSA Colorado/Access Gallery, an inclusive nonprofit organization that engages the community by opening doors to creative, economic and educational opportunities for people with disabilities. ArtStir Denver will donate 20% of all sponsor dollars received (as well as 20% of event beverage sales) to VSA Colorado, and a portion of event programming will focus on inclusion of artists and audiences with disabilities.

Submit your Art for AIGA Colorado’s partnership with ArtStir.

Calling all designers, illustrators, makers and more! Here’s your chance to have your art featured in the event Voted Best New Festival in 2014 by Westword Magazine. AIGA Colorado is partnering with ArtStir for the third year in a row to provide access to hands-on art interaction, and you can be a part of it.

Submit square (9x9in) black and white art to be printed on our 12×7 foot ArtWall (which make up the walls of the AIGA CO booth) as well as coloring pages for artists of all ages to color inside and outside the lines. The theme is Access to Art. We’re funding a scholarship with VSA/Access Gallery and ArtStir to provide teens and their families with year-long access to artistic expression — funding art classes, materials, museum memberships, etc.

Submission Details:
We’ll be choosing the top designs to be reproduced to display at ArtStir; attendees will be able to interact with these black and white pieces to be colored in as an on-the-spot creative outlet. We are looking for art that is accessible to all, that expresses something around inspiration and creativity for any age: 3+

1.Create your square (9×9”) vector illustrations as black and white line art
2.Explore the theme “access to art” and what that means to you. Imagery should appeal to kids and adults.
3.Fill out the online application
4.Upload images (AI or EPS files) by April 27, 2015

Thank you for enriching our community with your talent and ideas!
