The Original Color Palette Book?

In 1692, someone by the name of A. Boogert decided to create the ultimate color palette book. In the book, he explains how to make colors using watercolor paint. He shows how to mix colors and how to change their tone by adding portions of water. Amazingly, the book is completely hand-written and painted and there is even a detailed index at the end of the book cataloging all of the colors the author created.

You can see the entire book here. It could very well be the world’s first color palette book and is highly comparable to Pantone’s Color Guide, which was first published in 1963.
