1. New Music I’m Listening To

I still really love Kendrick’s DAMN. Listen to that a lot. We are also currently listening to The War on Drugs’ new A Deeper Understanding, Passion Pit’s Tremendous Sea of Love, Dan Croll’s Emerging Adulthood, Spoon’s Hot Thoughts, Fat Tony and always, a lot of Paul Simon. And when we don’t want to think about things in the studio, we put on the Tribe Called Quest radio station. So solid.

2. Made Me Excited

We are super excited about a rebrand we have been working on. It is for a 25-year-old coffee roasting company, and we have developed their new brand identity system and strategy as well as a whole new packaging system.  They are looking at all of their retail locations and how the brand works in space. First new location opens in September and packaging should roll out later in the fall. So darn excited about this one.

3. Made Me Crave

Ok, I am a lover of food that is generally really bad for you. A couple weeks ago when they shared [they were opening] a Cheetos restaurant, I just about lost it. I got so excited by this little concept restaurant. Don’t get me wrong, some of the menu items are insane, but I want to try them all. Sadly, it was only open for like, 3 days so I never got to go. Don’t believe me how great it was, check it out y’all.

4. Made Me Believe

So much sad going on in our country and world right now. It’s so overwhelming. From U.S. politics and discrimination to Hurricane Harvey. It really just gives you a helpless feeling at times.

But, when the tragedy of Harvey hit and you see the positive reaction of the people of Houston and areas surrounding, it is a reminder that people really are good and generally looking out for one another. Seeing everyone and anyone with a boat risk their live to go help save strangers, animals and people in need is such a positive message in a time that needs more positive messages. If you haven’t, at the very least, please help this region recover and donate to The Red Cross.

5. Gave Me Butterflies

We are currently painting an 87-foot-long mural for my favorite baseball team: the Kansas City Royals. It is fun seeing all our friends, family and staff come together to do this together. And as such a huge Royals fan, it is so fun to be a tiny part of a franchise I love so much.
