AIGA CO Boulder Film Series | Desert Utopia

Because we had to turn so many people away at the door we are having an encore screen of this film. We recommend getting your tickets early.

Desert Utopia traces the history of modern architecture in Palm Springs from the first bold forays into modernist design to the preservation challenges facing the region today. The film features rare archival images and footage as well as interviews with historians, homeowners and the architects who helped create this mecca of modernism.

The film reviews iconic modern designers such as William F. Cody, Albert Frey, William Krisel, John Lautner, Richard Neutra, R.M. Schindler, Donald Wexler, E. Stewart Williams and how they left their collective mark on Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Desert Hot Springs, with mid century modern homes, public buildings and commercial structures.

Following the screening there will be a Q&A session with an executive producer of this film, Kirk Brown. Mr. Brown is also co-founder of Design on Screen, a film company that produces design and architecture documentaries.

Tickets are on sale now.
