Amplify – AIGA Colorado Fellows Gala 2019

Join us in celebration at the 2019 AIGA Colorado Gala to honor two incredible design professionals receiving the coveted AIGA Fellow Award.

AIGA FELLOW AWARD

The AIGA National Fellow award program is a means of recognizing seasoned designers who have made a significant contribution to raising the standards of excellence in practice and conduct within their local or regional design community, as well as in their local AIGA chapter. The areas of education, writing, leadership, and reputation, as well as the practice of design, are given equal consideration in measuring significant contribution.

Lisa and Charles

LISA ABENDROTH

A Professor in the Communication Design Program at Metropolitan State University of Denver, Lisa M. Abendroth led the program from 2000 to 2018. Her research encompasses community-centered, public interest design focused on issues of social equity toward marginalized audiences. Working across diverse disciplines of design, her activities include practicing, evaluating, and writing about design that addresses underserved people, places, and problems. She served as faculty advisor for the MSU Denver AIGA student group for over a decade, was a 2013 recipient of the SEED Award for Leadership in Public Interest Design, and has lectured, presented, exhibited, and published nationally and internationally.

CHARLES CARPENTER

As the Creative Director of Wigwam Creative, a design + digital agency founded in Denver in 2011, Charles R. Carpenter believes in practicing a design approach that is built on listening, creating empathy, and finding authentic solutions that clients and their audiences can connect with. He has previously served as Events Director and President of AIGA Colorado, and now serves on the Advisory Board. He has received a number of awards for his work from such publications as HOWGraphis, Print Regional Design, and Step Inside Design, as well as the Art Director’s Club Denver Bronze and Gold awards.
