Morning Brew: Journal As a Business and Creative Guide

Join AIGA Colorado for our virtual Morning Brew Series! It is more important than ever to stay connected so join us for a short 30 minute presentation from industry professionals regarding the topics of health, the future of design, or community.

Now the Good Stuff....

Milton Glazer said: “If you ever want your life to mean anything, keep a journal.” Marty agrees. It's a great document for review of past events and he finds it has kept him from making the same mistakes over and over again. Marty has found that his journal and some of the “stupid little sketches" he has done, have profoundly changed the way he works and how his studio works. The process has helped turn them into “makers” of models, samples, and drawings. Join Marty as he showcases examples for effective journaling.

Speaker Bio:

As a veteran of experiential graphic design, Marty highly values—and has built—an engaging studio environment where accomplished professionals are empowered to get excited, grow their talents and work together. He also guides ArtHouse and its clients through a clear and mindful design process that has consistently proven to be effective over the years. From sketches on paper to scale models to full-size installations, he plays a chief role in evolving ideas into results that achieve clients’ goals. Marty places great value on listening and collaborating to help project teams visualize—and realize—possibilities.

With a deft drawing hand and sharp mind, as well as business acumen, Marty has earned serious clout among design circles—in Denver and across the country. A strong supporter of education and professional development, Marty often hosts local and national student groups and professional organizations at the studio, and he travels throughout the country to give presentations on a variety of topics and trends in design.
