Fred started his design career at the University of Washington and concluded his formal education at the Basel School of Design, earning his MFA in Design Methods in 1981. He then landed at Corning, directing a local design staff and external design consultants globally. After distinguished leadership roles in corporate America—including VP of user experience at Sapient—he found his way to RMCAD. Fred has served on the AIGA National board in the 1980s, as President of AIGA CO, and as an executive board member of Cumulus International Association of Universities & Colleges Art, Design & New Media. In 2002, he became Chair of Design at RMCAD and continues as Design Ambassador, building relationships between students, faculty and the business community.
