Upside-downing It: Suzanne Heintz
Denver Art Museum

March 26, 2015

Suzanne Heintz explores the Ozzie and Harriet-like ideal of marriage and life as pre-determined by our culture through her passion project, “Life Once Removed,”satirizing traditional family photos by replacing humans with the emotionless mannequins. The project went viral in 2013, and Heintz has been exploring farther reaches of this passion project ever since.

Heintz explores the balance between her day job (Art Director at Starz) and passion project – applying her training, relationships with coworkers, and the ultimate dream: happiness with work-life balance. Her approach of turning “the norm” on it’s head has allowed her to examine life without the labels, parameters and pressures our culture has pre-determined.
