Where can we find you?

How have you adapted your creative process during this time?

My process has not changed too much. I’ve always been a fan of long walks to get the creative juices flowing. I do appreciate less time in meetings right now. It has given me time to take extra walks or let my brain wonder more than I could let it before.

How has a failure, or apparent failure, set you up for later success? Do you have a “favorite failure” of yours?

I’ve had a lot of failures, but not a particular one that is “the” doozy. About 2 years ago I decided to take more time for self evaluation. I look at failures AND successes. You don’t only learn from failures. Even in our successes, there are things to learn and improve upon. I try to note a few key takeaways and keep them in my notebook. Two of my biggest takeaways are 1. Slow down. Give yourself space. If you rush through a proposal or design it will not have room to breathe. 2. If you get caught up on what others are doing, what others may think you stray from yourself. You need to be you. Be authentic and people will value you for it.

What is one of the best or most worthwhile investments you’ve ever made?

Last year I hired a business coach. I went into it knowing I wanted more tools in my toolbox for running a business and being a leader. I got WAY more out of it. It helped me slow down, articulate and understand how I want to run and grow my business. It allowed me to create boundaries. Some of the things we did over the year were things I already knew, but never took the time to bring to the surface and flesh out. It helped me just as much personally as it did professionally.

What are you currently working on?

I can’t say who or what this is, but I will say it is a company with an incredible group of smart, inspiring, and mindful individuals with a product that is extremely relevant for today. We are completely repositioning this product in the marketplace and rebranding it top-to-bottom.
