Join us for an evening celebrating the legacy of AIGA Fellow and former Chapter President Fred Murrell: his passion for design, typography, and the history of the poster.
The Denver Art Museum showcases approximately 20 Swiss posters from Fred's collection, including work by Armin Hofmann, Wolfgang Weingart, Bruno Monguzzi, and others, as part of the exhibition From Order to Expression: Swiss Poster Design, 1960sā1990s.
The exhibition traces four decades of the Swiss Style. From the clean, restrained grids that reshaped visual communication in the 1950s and '60s, through the more expressive, rule-breaking work of the '70s, to the digital tools that opened new directions by the century's end. Spanning 1961 to 1998, the collection on view was generously donated to the museum by Fred and his wife, Jolaine.
